Indera skin and spa

Nadia Pisanelli’s passion for skin and beauty started as a teenager. So even though she initially worked in IT, she realised that it was not the job for her and instead studied for a diploma in beauty therapy.

After graduating, Nadia started offering treatments at home. In 2009, Nadia and her sister-in-law, an accountant, took the leap to open Indera Skin & Spa in Newport. After her sister-in-law had children, Nadia took over the whole of the business.

“I’ve always grown up in the west and we decided to find a premises in Newport because we felt that the suburb was a hidden gem, with a quiet suburban feel and a close knit community,” explains Nadia. “At the time there wasn’t a beauty business in the area so we thought it was a good spot for our business to grow. I could really see the potential.

At Indera Skin & Spa, Nadia wants to build a place where clients feel comfortable and leave feeling good about themselves.

“We are really client focused. We also try to add relaxation to every treatment and being a therapist I like to perform the treatments in a calm, quiet space too,” smiles Nadia. “Many of our clients are mums and as a mum myself I appreciate that any little outing should be as pleasurable as possible.”

Since 2009, Indera has grown its range of skin, massage, beauty and cosmetic treatments and services, ranging from skin treatments to spray tans. They now have a cosmetic nurse, a cosmetic tattooist and four staff members.

They’re particularly renowned for Laser Genesis, a procedure fit for all skin types that’s used to treat inflamed skin, acne, rosacea and stimulate the production of collagen and elastin to give people a beautiful and healthy glow.

Nadia’s vision is to keep expanding with more products, more staff and more treatment rooms.

“When I hear a client say ‘I feel amazing after I leave here’, that's everything to me. Having clients feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and confident after their time with us is where my passion lies.”
